Design Lecture Series: Collecting Design
Journalist and critic Mayer Rus moderates a wide-ranging discussion on the fundamentals of building a substantial design collection, from education and connoisseurship to sourcing and market trends. Panelists include Mitchell Wolfson, Jr., Modern Decorative Arts Showmandizer of Miami, decorative arts dealer Mark McDonald of Hudson, New York; and collectors Kirk Brown and Jill Wiltse of Denver.

11th Annual Palm Springs Modernism Show
This annual gathering of avid modernism collectors and dealers draws
thousands of people from around the country and from far flung locations around the globe. Produced by Dolphin Promotions (more show info here), this is among the biggest and most successful modernism shows anywhere with a vast collection of stellar modernist furniture, art, jewelry, ceramics, vintage clothing, lighting, posters, paintings and more.

Interior Design Home Tour
Begin this exceptional tour at the Burkhart/Hudson residence in Old Las Palmas (pictured). The tour will showcase the interior design of Luis Ortega, Brandon Hoskins, Bill Stewart, Jay Jones and even the late, great, Arthur Elrod. Architectural masterpieces by E. Stewart Williams, Donald Wexler, Palmer & Krisel and Charles Dubois are featured.

William Krisel, Architect
Over the course of his sixty-year career, architect William Krisel brought modernism to the masses, designing more than 40,000 individual housing units across the U.S. “I’m a firm believer that good modern design can make your life happier, more productive and more enjoyable,” says Krisel. The film (2010, Director Jake Gorst, 85 minutes) will be followed by an exclusive DVD release party with William Krisel in person and available for autographs at 4:00 pm.

The Designs of Lucienne & Robin Day
Robin and Lucienne Day, one of England's most glamorous couples, transformed British design after World War II. His elegant furniture and her striking textiles signaled a new era of modernist designs for everyday living. Robin's stacking polypropylene chair endures as an icon and today even graces a Royal Mail postage stamp. Lucienne's abstract textile designs brought accessible elegance into the homes of postwar British consumers. Executive Producers Kirk Brown & Jill Wiltse in-person for Q&A after the film!
