Accidents Happen

When it rains... it pours.
The holiday season is among us and has brought along with it:
the crazy weather
holiday shopping
high stress levels
traffic jams
& accidents.

Last night I was involved in an auto accident and I really encourage everyone to slow down, leave space for other drivers and try to be extra careful. Things could have been way worse than they are and I thank god for that. You never know where life will take you, it can sometimes be a wild ride.

Oh, Maggy, I am very sorry to hear this. Thankfully, you are all right and, yes, thank you for the reminder to be careful. You are in my thoughts!

Oh, hon, I am so sorry! Accidents are terrible and I am glad to hear that you are doing "okay...ish."

I have had a few in my life and now I drive like a grandma. Seriously. I am that person that goes just the speed limit and uses all her mirrors, leaves a lot of room between me and the car in front of me, insists on everyone wearing their seat belts. I get made fun of, but I know that my driving keeps me and my fam as safe as possible, so I just don't care... ;)

Hi Dina,

I think that this whole experience will make me see that even driving in the rain on the streets isn't as safe as you think it is. I hydroplaned on the freeway in the slow lane years ago and it was the scariest feeling knowing that at any second I could have made a turn for the worse. Luckily we only slid backwards from the far right lane al the way over to the 5th lane AKA the carpool. And then we slid all the way back over to the right lane again and over the side of the freeway only a few feet away from the overpass and into a ditch without a scratch to the car. Since then I have been really scared to drive on the freeway in the rain. Now it's just everywhere.
