Getting Down

Z Girl Can Dream
Musing on Lilly items that I will most likely never own, but was inspired to write about.

Despite the cheesy clear bag-ness I want this bag. It reminds me of the days in Jr High when we were this-close to having mandatory clear backpacks. You see this would have been a horrible idea because in Jr High you don't want people to see feminine products or your love letters to Johnny.

This dress looks interesting and super fun to wear. I think the little jewels look like candy from easter time. I love wearing strapless dresses but hate having to adjust them through the day. This dress is perfect because it looks like a strapless dress and the beaded detailing is almost like a necklace built in.

Thank god for skirted swimsuits because I have an insecurity with wearing bathing suits. If I wanted to be practically naked I would go to the nude beach, thank you. Until I feel more confident about being on display at the beach I will stick with skirting my issues.
Gold Klimt Earrings $150.00
I cant help but wonder if these Klimt earrings were names after the late and great artist Gustav Glimt? I think they were because his artwork has lots of these little swirly bubble details. Either way I want them because Klimt is a badass.
Turquoise Oval Earring $195.00
Turquoise and gold, what a great combo. These two should just get married, they complement each other so well. Right? And there is that Klimt detailing going on, must have.

The Grilled Cheese Truck
One of these days I'm going to make a trip to the Los Angeles area so that I can get my hands on a gourmet grilled cheese from the "Grilled Cheese Truck". I have heard that the lines for the truck are over an hour wait but it's totally worth it. Let's check out the selection.

Frida Kahlo
Let's talk about Frida Kahlo.
Who is she: One of the most influental female painters of the 20th century.
Where is she from: Born July 6th 1907 in Coyoacan near Mexico City.
Her Work: Frida stopped studying medicine and began a full-time painting career.
Frida Kahlo's home, which is also known as La Casa Azul is now a Museum that is open to the public.
In the Museum you can walk through her home and check out the interior design and artworks however there is no photography allowed inside. Outside is a wonderful garden and courtyard as well as a cafe.
In the meantime check out the move "Frida" starring Salma Hayek. This film will help you to better understand the reasoning and inspiration behind Frida's risque, erotic and pain filled self portraits.

"Cool" the song by Gwen Stefani is one of my favorite songs because it makes me reminisce and feel nostalgic towards the "good old days". The song's music video is also a stunning mini masterpiece full of lust, love, designer duds and a summer spent in Italy.

Skyline Drive, Fullerton, CA homes at sunset
While I was leaving class the other evening the sunset was so beautiful so I decided to take the long way home to enjoy the view. I drove through the lovely Skyline Drive in Fullerton California to get these shots. I live in the area so its pretty standard to drive through here. But tonight everything and every house had a wonderful glow to it. Take a look at the wonderful homes in the hills of Fullerton Below.
A fun baby blue and bright white Colonial style home with Greek pediment as well as pillars and french windows.
Like I said the sunset...
The view facing the Beach as well as south Orange County.
A simple Southwestern design: Pillars, clay tile roof.
Mediterranean style home with a variety of windows and a clay tile roof, and window coverings to block the sun from the west.
