Homemade Vintage style Cuban posters.

Since tomorrow night is my Cuban birthday party Ive been cramming in all the extra decor and last minute ideas before its too late. I decided to do handmade vintage style Cuban posters. I found all of them online and made my own version so I could save money, plus it was fun making them.

The Villa Del Sol

The Villa Del SOl is a wonderful Spanish Colonial style building that has housed many uses. Currently it is the home of a variety of res truants, offices, boutiques and novelty stores.

Here is a view inside the courtyard of the Villa Del Sol. A rich environment inspired by the early California Missions. It is very relaxing and almost feels as if you are on vacation. The perfect venue for a for an evening dinner with your man or a fun lunch after shopping with the girls.

The Brownstone Cafe is a small bistro type cafe that is only open for breakfast till 4pm. They are the home of the Famous Tomato Soup, Ive tried it and can say YES it is the BEST!

Next is the Hidalgo Cafe, serving Authentic foods of Spain, Mexico & Latin America.I have been here a few times, for my birthday twice and once for NYE. I have had wonderful service and a really love the fun and vibrant colors that are truely Spanish looking.

One Night In Havana

Im super excited because Im having a Cuban theme party at the end of the month for my birthday. It is being called ~One Night In Havana~, inspired by the movie "Dirty Dancing Havana Nights" Im having alot of fun trying to figure exactly what kind of mood I want to set for the evening. Here is my vision:

Proceed to the next room Cafe Cubana (backroom) where there will be platters full of Cuban inspired tapas and a bar with Mojitos and Dues Equis beer. The walls will have Cuban artwork and decorative lights strung around.

• Walk outside and into La Rosa Negra Night Club(the backyard) where there are candlelit tables, Cuban Musica, colored lights moving to the beat and people dancing, talking and having fun.

3 cheers for Spring Break

Today is the start of three things that Ive been looking forward to for months. I just started my long awaited Spring break from class this week, thank god.

I also signed up for the self challenge today by measuring myself and weighing in. Hopefully this will motivate me to stop eating junk and get into the groove of walking.
