A Patchwork Point Of View

Patchwork Festival isn't very hard to explain, yet many people misinterpret it for a granny old school craft fair that you had during the holiday season. That is until they get their butt's on over to The Patchwork Indie Art's & Crafts Festival! That's when they see what they've been missing out on for the past 6 shows. Now I too will admit I was once one of those people that thought " huh? whats a patchwork festival? A quilt show?" 

So, my friends, I dedicate this post to all of the artists,crafters, musicians, patrons, volunteers and the founders Delilah & Nicole, who put on a wonderful festival! 

Step into the Long Beach Patchwork Festival from my point of view.

Created by Delilah Snell, an Orange County Master Food Preserver. She works with over 20 different Southern California farmers and local gardeners to create a number of preserved goods highlighting the flavors and seasons of the region.

Tea Gone Absolutely Wild

It's the weekend and you should be drinking tea! Not just any old tea, the good stuff aka Absolut Wild Tea vodka. If you are a follower of my blog than you remember my post on KCRW's good food Happy Hour @ The Crosby. Well, there was a drink featured that night, The Wildflower Press and it was amazingly refreshing.  I have done all the hard work for you and found the recipes for the best (in my opinion) cocktails to make with the Wild Tea Vodka.

Absolut Wild Tea & Elderflower vodka
Blood oranges
Sweet vermouth
Soda & sprite
(Garnished with fresh edible flowers)

ABSOLUT WILD MOJITO

INGREDIENTS

1 1/2 parts ABSOLUT Wild Tea

3/4 part Fresh Lime Juice

1/2 part Simple Syrup

4 Mint Leaves

Soda Water

INSTRUCTIONS

Muddle mint leaves with simple syrup and lime juice in a shaker. Add ABSOLUT Wild Tea. Shake and pour into a highball glass. Top with soda.

GINGER SNAP

INGREDIENTS

3/4 part ABSOLUT Wild Tea

3/4 part Hiram Walker Butterscotch Schnapps

1 part Ginger Ale

INSTRUCTIONS

Shake ABSOLUT Wild Tea and schnapps with ice. Strain into shot glass. Top with ginger ale.

WILD COSMO

INGREDIENTS

1 1/2 parts ABSOLUT Wild Tea

1 part Cranberry Juice

1/2 part Orange Liqueur

1/4 part Fresh Lime Juice

INSTRUCTIONS

Shake over ice and strain into a martini glass.

May your beverage be cool and your date extra hot.

Why is it...

I notice I'am most inspired a few hrs before I have to go to work/school. Why is that? Im guessing its that adrenaline rush knowing you will be trapped and you have to make the most of those few hrs before its back to the grind.

As The World Falls Down

After watching this film for the first time in my 2nd grade class I wanted to be Sarah and I ran around the playground waiting for the goblin king to come find me.I could only imagine what it would be like to have a boy talk to me, much less how it would be like as a sophisticated 15 year old  being seduced by a grown man in a redic cod piece while serenading me with his floating balls in which depicted my ultimate fantasies. Damn that was a run on sentence wasn't it. Oh well.

I mean whats wrong with that? 

Maybe if I was 15 like the character Sarah it would be more appropriate?  Then we would totally be able to date. Especially when my parents were gone and I was left home alone to watch my brother. Seriously who came up with this storyline? Why is it just occurring to me that this movie has some serious pedo undertones? Is it crazy that after realizing this, I still love the movie?

Ombre Ole

Ever heard the term "ombre" and wondered what does that mean? 

Ombre is a French term that means shade, usually from dark to light. The ombre effect can be achieved through dip dying, or actually weaving different tones of one color. It is less hippie and more refined look opposed to tie dye. Im usually not a blue person per say, but I absolutely love how it looks in the ombre effect. I instantly think of the ocean, blue turquoise white ohh lala lovely.

Hello Friends

Hello Hello my dear friends, family, followers, basically anyone who has  noticed that I was on a hiatus.

 I feel as if I set sail on a personal growth boat. I have been busy working on myself, my relationships, school work, internship, work and planning a summer trip.  So now that you know I'm back I cannot wait to start blogging again. I felt as if I had so much to share, but no time to share it. Because as you know blogging isn't easy. Especially for those of us who take pride in our blog content.

 No matter how many followers 1-1,000 the only thing that matters to me is that someone out there is interested in my ideas, my photography and maybe even just my personality. That is the coolest part of blogging, connecting with other people from all around the world. 

Upcoming posts will be featuring more artist interviews, a 24 hr Palm Springs trip,  Road Less Traveled Store, interior design projects and of course those cute cats of mine.
