Cuban Collective

I figure if I cant go to Cuba I will just have to take my imagination there. Im looking for a new Cuban based book and have been thinking about "Dancing with Cuba". Featuring a woman who travels to Cuba to teach dancing, but later finds her calling as a journalist.

As far as movies go I came across "The Lost City" An artsy film about a privileged family and their life in Havana. Thriving night life, music, and love all taking place in the glamorous days of Cuba's past.

With Christmas right around the corner why not listen to latin Jazz tunes. I listened to this cd on amazon and its not bad. It's kinda jazzy lots of guitar.

To top it all off I gotta go to Habana to have some plantain crusted chicken.

Homemade Vintage style Cuban posters.

Since tomorrow night is my Cuban birthday party Ive been cramming in all the extra decor and last minute ideas before its too late. I decided to do handmade vintage style Cuban posters. I found all of them online and made my own version so I could save money, plus it was fun making them.

One Night In Havana

Im super excited because Im having a Cuban theme party at the end of the month for my birthday. It is being called ~One Night In Havana~, inspired by the movie "Dirty Dancing Havana Nights" Im having alot of fun trying to figure exactly what kind of mood I want to set for the evening. Here is my vision:

Proceed to the next room Cafe Cubana (backroom) where there will be platters full of Cuban inspired tapas and a bar with Mojitos and Dues Equis beer. The walls will have Cuban artwork and decorative lights strung around.

• Walk outside and into La Rosa Negra Night Club(the backyard) where there are candlelit tables, Cuban Musica, colored lights moving to the beat and people dancing, talking and having fun.
