Birthday Girl

 Where does the time go?
The days are long and the years are short, it's so true!
How many times have you thought to yourself, this year will be different, I will be different? I believe this year to be different than last, and the years before. Why you may ask? I've grown to love myself more and more  and I have started to make room for myself to grow into the person I want to be now! I even went and saw a psychic and a tarot card reader, both told me almost the same thing! Having a psychic tell me things about myself that made me feel so open and vulnerable really got me thinking. I have some big goals in my life I want to accomplish and I know that I have a higher calling. I could go on forever talking about this stuff but this post is supposed to be about my Birthday celebrations so I'll save that for another time!

Me and my lovely ladies Karen and Nilu hanging out in Belmont Shore after having a delicious lunch at Open Sesame!

When Nilu is around a photoshoot is bound to happen!

Posing silly with Nilu!

We flagged down a biker to take this photo of all three of us!

Karen and I always laughing lol!

On a separate occasion the ladies took Karen and I out for our Birthdays since we're only 2 weeks apart!

Birthday Fun at D'vine in Fullerton!

All my birthday loot! Thank you everyone!!!

So once again, thank you everyone for your Birthday wishes, gifts and time spent with me! You all are very loved and made this Taurus feel very special that week!

A few things I do that make me feel like me

I start work in two hours so that means I have just enough time to start writing a blog post.
Its been an inspiring week and I feel like there are signs from all over the universe guiding me into the right direction. I have had some meaningful time spent alone as well as with other people. I'm trying to have "more fun" and not worry so much about the little things. A few weeks ago I saw a psychic and she told me a ton of things, it was super strange to feel so vulnerable and unsure if what she was saying was true or not.

The things she said that made me think...
Ill be a mother, not now but in a few years. That I will be a successful Business woman, because I have vision and drive. That I have a dark spirit following me, That I want to be happy but that I only will be if I let whatever happened to me in my past go free.

As you can see it was pretty intense, full of tears and I was scared, but I knew that she was right because for a long time I had been unhappy and it wasn't until a few years ago that I have really started to find myself as a creative person.

A few things that make me feel like me...

collecting items to sell at my flea market booth & online store
playing with my puppy walking him and just his presence
smelling new perfume scents & trying lotions ahhh
savoring an iced cold beverage of coffee or a sparkling drink
watching children play and smile makes me happy
dancing and singing to amazing music
wearing colorful flowy clothing and accessories
warm weather, sunshine and greenery

Forever 21 Fit Finds

It's crazy what happens when you lose weight...you actually want to go shopping and of all places forever 21.

Why?

Because the clothes actually fit me now. Maybe they have changed their designers or it could be my hips are smaller but I was loving these looks I tried on!

I loved this workout top because it has a loose fit and has an open back for those crazy intricate sports bras that are so in right now! I actually picked out a small! I already work I to the gym this week and it was perfect.

This hoodie made me think of the 90s and that's why I love it. Plus it's soft, can't wait to wear this one out!

This top was one of my favs, I wore it the other day to go walk Loki at the park with my friend! It has a mesh opening over the shoulders so it's great when the weather is sunny but not too hot or cold.

Yeah it seems like all I was buying was sportswear, but I found this cute tank dress that's kinda sporty but sexy at the same time!

Love what I found this time at forever 21 woohoo

OK guys! Hope you have a great weekend, I'm heading off to work now and hopefully my coffee kicks in soon!

Village at La Floresta Walking Tour

Hi y'all it's been a few weeks since the opening of the new shopping center in Brea "Village at La Floresta" and I've finally had some time to share my experience and photos that I took that day!

As some of you may know, this new shopping center has been in the works for a few years now and is part of a whole new community of new custom homes and even a retirement home as well as a swimming club all under the umbrella of La Floresta, a master planned community.

One of the big draws for this new community is the fact that they had a whole foods as part of their shopping centers new tenants, and us crazy people in North oc have been having to go out to Tustin to get our fix of pre-peeled oranges and lemon infused water, I kid...lol do people really buy that crap anyway? Wenever I go it's usually to buy something fun from the beauty section or the salad bar!!! Yum!!!

When I went out to see the new location a few weeks ago I went in on the opening day! Crazy I tell you, the parking lot was jammed and there was a massive amount of women in neon printed leggings and men that dress to good to be straight! Before I even made it into whole foods I was distracted by this beautiful
Store called plum pretty sugar! Everything was perfectly curated like a Pinterest page you just wanted to Instagram the hell out of it all!

I took a moment to speak with Ashley their store manager and their sales associate Chelsea. Both gals were friendly, knowledgeable and had this to say about the store "it's their first brick and mortar location and the company has been established 9 years online, and through retailers such as Nordies & Anthro". I had to ask if the name Plum Pretty Sugar had any secret meaning and they said no real meaning behind it but that  that owner and creative director Charlotte Hill wanted her company and store to have a whimsical feeling. The store definitely has a special feel to it...like you're floating on clouds filled with luxurious loungewear, accessories and you can't forget about candles and sprays to set the mood. Thanks for chatting with me, you'll see me again soon!

After I was done drooling over all of the beautiful goodies I just spoke about it was time to go check out the whole foods. I was walking towards the front door and there was a DJ outside playing familiar  music... The best way to describe it is that it was rap song but the smooth jazz version, if that makes any sense to you. Like 50 cent lolipop but this tropical not x rated version. I sat outside for a moment snapchatting the songs...they were that good.

A few moments into my awkward snapchatting I had to get up and ask the DJ what he was playing so I could play it at home. He told me it's a YouTube channel called "hidden Beach unwrapped" you'll love it if you like 90s and early 2k rap and hip hop.

OK so many detours on my way to whole foods I wasn't sure if I was ever going to make it into the store ever. But alas I made my way in, and there were hundreds of people oggling over kale and organic chicken... Just kidding. It was a great vibe lots of happy people working and shopping in the store that day. I loved the beauty section, always smells amazing. For lunch I went to the salad bar and found my way to the outside patio which was great, people chatting ad drinking wine from bottles, kids playing and the fountain all drowned out the sounds of imperial highway and it was definitely somewhere I would like to go spend more time blogging or hanging out to get a drink etc.

By now I was ready to head out...but since I'm a dog/cat/animal lover...I stopped by Krisers natural pet and got Loki some puptato chips and he loves them!

Before I stopped to my car I saw one more boutique, Blue Eyed Girl which caught my eye. I have this thing where I can't help myself but stop into boutiques that are inspiring and owned by women that are passionate about what they do. I had the pleasure of meeting CO owner\buyer Dawn Mcnight, although she was super busy she took a moment to introduce herself to me which was so great because it really set the tone of how her stores and staff are...everyone was in great spirits and chatty and passionate about their role and the company they work for. While I was there I also got to speaking with the managers and I asked them to tell me about the store. Here's what they had to say "Blue Eyed Girl has been around for 11 years and their first location was in San Juan Capistrano and they now have 5 locations in orange county".

Isn't it great that these small businesses are thriving? I had to know what their favorite items were in the store " the Vince leather jacket & the green faithful brand sweater in the window " I now want that jacket too thanks for sharing ladies! When I asked them what their favorite part about working for Blue Eyed Girl the answer was "owner Dawn gives the team power to grow within the company and that the key to their success is communication". How awesome does this place sound to work at? Of course before I left I had to pick up one of my fav candles from Barr co. Thanks ladies for your time and awesome energy!

Well that concludes my walking tour of the Village at La Floresta, hope yo enjoyed and please go support these local small businesses and tell them I sent you!
BTW this blog post was brought to you by my tablet which is making it take forever and a day to blog...and possibly causing me neck pain. But hey I love writing and sharing my adventures with you all! Cheers, till next time.

GLOOMY DAY & TJ MAXX FINDS!

I felt the change, it's always the end of August and early September that I feel like Fall is creeping it's way in. It's in your coffee, your clothing stores and all over pinterest...we must face the inevitable, FALL IS COMING! The weather today was quite fitting, gloomy and a tad cooler, like a day at the beach in Spring. During my typical Coffee run I made a stop at TJ Maxx and was quite pleased with their BASIC BITCH selection :0

See for yourself!

This DKNY wrap top was cozy and I loved the berry/wine color! It was a bit pricey for what it was so I passed it along its way. And don't mind my stupid look on my face, should have cropped it out LOL

This sexy top by Lily White is perfect to throw on under a sweater or Leather Jacket and under 9 bucks SCORE!

This jacket was amazing and under 20 bucks! The brand is called BCNU

I really wanted a marled grey Sweater, this one by Poof was cute, but it kept rolling open and was itchy on the skin pass!

This top from Kim & Cami was actually pretty cute and I wanted it, but passed it up...maybe next time.

Hope this got you inspired to go shopping..hehe :) What do you think? Are you in on the nuetral/basics trend for fall?

Palm Springs Summer Vacay

What better way to kick off the start of Summer than a trip to Palm Springs! It's only about an hour and a half drive from OC and it seems like a world away because of the lax desert vibes. If you're like me and think of Vegas and run the other way this is a place for you then ;) I mapped out my two and a half days to have a bit of everything to do since I knew we would want to live it up because we hardly get to go out the two of us! First off we stayed at the Hard Rock Hotel, which was super cool looking but seemed to have lots of hidden fees :/ price you pay to stay at a resort I guess...oh well...onto the fun stuff!!!

We set off to the desert in the morning and arrived at Morongo casino before 10 am! I've never actually been here before, but driven by the tall casino/hotel each and every time we pass into Palm Springs!. I found my fav slot machine (Sex and The City) and an Iced Latte and I was in the zone! After pressing buttons vicariously and not knowing what the hell I was doing, I realized I was hungry and I better find my other half and get along our way.

We hopped back into the car and drove on over to Aladdin Cafe in Cathedral city and we were in love! Ry and I love Lebanese food & Kabobs so this was our little oasis in the desert! Family owned and it has a deli and market all in one, this is a place that I highly recommend for a simple bite of well made Mediterranean food!

Here is a look at our Amazing platter from Aladdin cafe!

After eating it was time to head to town and get situated into our Hotel room and get our drink on! I think it was about 110' that day, which explains the look on my face! LOL

First things first, a drink from Bongo Johnnys where we seem to always have a fun time! Last time we came together was on my birthday and the men here got us TURNT! They LOVE TO PARTY AND DRINK at this place! I got a Moscow Mule, I'm sure Ry got a beer, and all was well in our world.

After drinks we went to the courthouse and got married, GOTCHA! No I just happened to stumble upon this cute little chapel in downtown.

In a drunken frenzy Ry decided to get a hot shave. Seems like when he has had a few his egotistical self turns up the noise and he suddenly cares about his looks and wants to be noticed by the world for his good looks. I said good for you, and me and decided to leave him at the barbers and explore. Thats how I ended up going on this flight of stairs with pretty Spanish tiles and a great view of the street below!

My view from the rooftop, was hot as all hell btw!

And the final reveal of Rys new look! HOT PERSIAN NOT PERSIAN LOOK! Hehe thats an inside joke so you may not understand. Anyway he looked amazing :0 thanks to @je_zeus_the_barber
(that's his instagram if you're in Palm Springs and need a hair cut/shave shout out to him!)

Even after all that we still had time to sit by the pool and drink our Adult beverages and melt into the night!

During the week the Cabanas at the resort are non-reserved so I snatched one up and thank god I did or else I would have turned into a lobster!

We headed out that night to the Street fair which is every Thursday night in downtown. Here's how I looked, not sure why I wore that shoes, I thought I was gonna die of a heatstroke and day drinking! Oh the memories!~

Had dinner at La Terraza, mediocre Mexican food to say the least. Lat time I went here it was really good, this time eh. Maybe it was the Transvestite Acid rock Guitar player from the street fair that was competing with our attention for our meal! NO SERIOUSLY IT WAS BETTER THAN THE FOOD!

Ry and I could barely stay awake after eating so we went on over to the casino and spent our evening living the Air conditioned high life! SO NOT VEGAS LOL

Next morning it was up and at em! We had breakfast at the Kings Highway Diner inside the Ace hotel! Was really good we had a Moroccan Scramble...I'm actually looking at their menu now, trying to think of re-creating it myself! After breakfast it was off to the AERIAL TRAM! After walking around for a few hrs on the mountain top we HAD to have a beer! Lol what would we do without beer...

After having a light lunch of BLT and fries at Sherman's Deli we headed back to our hotel room where Ry stayed in the cave and I headed poolside! Dont ask, he doesn't do pools..I on the other hand love them...can you tell! I was in my happy place!

Our final dinner of our trip was spent at Greek Islands where we were serenaded by a talented guitar player! We danced with the owner who thought Ry was Greek! Of course!

All in all we had a great time getting away and treating ourselves to some R&R and spending time with one another! We shared most of our food we ate so we were able to try many things and not spend as much money! Till next time Palm Spring

CHEERS!
