Its never too early for...Trina Turk Spring 2010

I love looking at Trina Turks website as well as Facebook for Fashion and interior design inspiration. I personally don't own any Trina Turk clothing but want to invest in one of her timeless pieces. Looking at her clothing makes me feel a bit nostalgic, as if I'm looking through old family photos thinking to myself...they look so glamorous!

I guess you could say I live vicariously through Trina Turks look books every season. I just took a moment to look at her Spring 2010 line and found a few pieces that I would LOVE to own! Here is a look at what I chose to wear on my Bahamas vacation, if only I could afford it all :)

I want to be able to wear tiny shorts and balance it out by wearing a billowy top like the Impressive sweater. This whole outfit seems so carefree like the a spring weekend.

The Ibis dress is sexy, seductive and looks like it is made from a vintage scarf! I know you love that floral print!

Pacific Tote Price N/A

The pacific tote is so so cool and is the same print as the Ibis dress. The organic shapes and bright colors make this simply shaped tote that much cooler!

The Summerset dress looks so fun, preppy and lightweight.

Rain drops keep falling in my mind

This past weekend So Cal residents were swept away by the first cold-front of the Fall season, this is headline news in Orange County. I swear if there wasn't weather some people would have nothing to talk about, and this would be a problem. With the change of weather came a change in clothing, I saw sweaters, jackets, boots and some(alot of)brainless people in shorts and tube top dresses! The weather man predicted rain this weekend but it never came my way, however I did daydream of a new umbrella.

Here are two that stood out to me:

I love the zigzags, reminds me of Missoni for less money!

I could definitely see myself carrying this Popish poppy umbrella over my head.

The Shape of Color-Art Gallery Assignment

Im excited that I can say Im done with my first project in my Art Gallery & Exhibit Design class. This assignment was enjoyable and hard all at once, I know that sounds strange but its true. I couldnt wait to get started on it when it was first assigned but when other classes were postponing tests right around the same time as this project I felt overwhelmed. I needed to get inspired because I knew this project wasnt goinf to be an easy one. I went to many art galleries and shows in my local area to open my eyes. There is no one way to have an art show.

So before I go any further here is a glimpse into my mini model of my schools art gallery at 1/2" scale.

The show is called "The Shape of Color"

The gallery has white outer walls while the floating walls have color such as fuchsia, citron, orange and blue. The artwork is displayed by color not artist which was seen as a bold move but worth it. The color zones are :

• Pink red purple
• orange yellow
• green blue
• yellow brown black

There are intimate as well as open spaces throughout the gallery and a different perspective from every angle. I added track lighting to the ceiling to create a more dramatic effect. Please feel free to share comments I would love to know what you think!

The Dark Side Of Her: a short story

It was that time of year to change my mind and make things clear

time to let the Sun set low and long and get ready for Nights to be slow and Strong

Time to get the bottle and wait a week to decide

when would it best to debut a darker more dramatic new you

Her old hair was brittle and want out with the old and in with the new

The dye sank in and about an hour later she came through with a new hue

Romance is all in the Roses

It has been a long week and or month filled with lots of work, homework, romantic thoughts and not enough time with the ones I love.

Can I share?

My boyfriend said were going on vacation!

The last time we went on a vacation for just us was 4 years ago in San Francisco...I know. We have both been so preoccupied with our contrasting lifestyles but its not going to be like this forever (in regards to our psycho student lifestyles). I have a feeling that things are right where they are supposed to be and there is nothing that I would change. I'm so proud of M. he is having a great time doing what he loves while getting one step closer to being "The most interesting and well educated man in the world"!

So now that I have that out of my system I wanted to share with you my romantic inspirations I have had all week. Put on the classical music and sip on a raspberry white mocha and take a look at these lovely romantic accessories etc.

The Cupcake Shoppe has created these really lovely looking rose cupcakes, they really look real! I wonder how they taste?

Pier One has me set on this new throw pillow, however I wouldn't want to throw i and mess up the petals. Does it smell as good as it looks?

This Santi bag reminds me of the tissue paper roses I made as a kid but with a grown up flair.

Art Gallery and Exhibit Design Project

IN the coming weeks I will be working on a really fun project for my Art class: Art Gallery and Exhibit Design. My assignment is to make a to scale model of the schools art gallery and re-imagine the current layout. This is such a cool assignment and is really similar to my past Interior Design projects. Here are a few examples of the assignment done by past students.

I picked up my supplies and will be getting started tomorrow on this, I will share with you the final project.

Jcrew Aficionado event review

Just a few weeks ago I went to my first Jcrew Aficionado event at the Brea mall. I was really excited about this because it was the perfect opportunity to meet people and save money all at once. Sadly it wasn't all I had expected, nothing like the D.C. events which had lots more attendants and a lunch afterwards.

However I was able to have a personal shopper to help me out in the fitting room her name starts with an M. and she has really long hair. She just happened to be wearing the same blazer that I was eyeing, the velvet eden blazer.

Maybe I will have to plan the next J.C.A. event so that I can tell more of my friends who had no idea what I was talking about. Its like a secret club kinda col, just wish it was more like the D.C. version.

So here we are in our matching Blazers! I'm contemplating wether or not to keep it, kinda expensive and I'm no rich girl.

All by myself in Claremont, CA

It was a Sunday, it was over 100' in the house and just as hot outside and I could not bare it any longer. After numerous attempts to get my mother and sister to join me on a random drive there were no takers. I went alone and that's just fine, I like being alone, is something wrong with me? God I hope not, its just too hard for me to call a handful of people and get the same awnser: no sorry I'm busy. Hey I do the same thing, life is busy who has time to do things on other peoples time...is that too selfish to say? I barely hang out with my boyfriend and I hate talking on the phone. I'm taking some deep-thinking classes and working late ass hours, all I can do is spend time with the one I love, myself.

When I spend time with myself I treat myself very well. I have a nice lunch a coffee maybe a present in the form of window shopping, and if I'm a really good girl I get a new pair of earrings.

On the latest all by myself trip I drove down a few miles...18 miles to Claremont, CA. Does anyone know what Iam talking about? This place is beautiful, full of trees, college hotties, green design shops, great homes, cafes, coffee and Mountains! I spent a few hours walking bout this town as if it was the first time I had seen it. There is something on every corner that gets my attention.

After walking around a few hours my appetite was calling me like a gossiping girl. I realized that I really hadn't had much to eat that day, besides that 500 calorie mini muffin...ugh why. So I walked around aimlessly because I cannot make up my mind when Iam hungry, its kinda weird. After going back and forth on where to eat lunch I listened to my instincts just like my philosophy teacher said and I ended up at Le Pain Quotidien.

So why did I choose to eat here? You must be wondering what my instincts were thinking...well I was pulled into this place because I love quiche, and it was one of the first things on the menu. I ordered the quiche Lorianne with a arugula salad and green iced tea...why am I going into so much detail? Well I want you to order exactly what I did. This was the perfect light enough lunch for a Summer afternoon. That's why.
Now that you heard me go off on the quiche and saw the picture to go along I know that you are sold on it too. Sorry if you are vegan or lactose you are missing out.
The La Pain Quotidein surprised me with a wonderful meal, knowledgeable server , and a cute cafe featuring a full bakery & a communal table.

I had never heard of the La Pain Quotidein before and Iam so glad I stopped by. It must really be good because apparently alot of celebs frequent this place including Katie Holmes who has is loaded.
So glad to have come and gone. Cheers to many more all by myself trips, dates and time with friends in Claremont, CA.

Getting Toplofty with Trina Turk, Palm Springs

One may think that trekking to the outskirts of the desert is only for those who love dirt bikes and camping, guess again! I was so excited to go to the desert, you can walk aimlessly up and down the main road of Palm Springs. It is even better when you act as if you have all the time and money in the world, as well as a personal ac blowing on your back.

To make matters even better there is a Trina Turk located on the main road in Palm Springs and I had a chance to use my fake money and buy the whole entire collection. No not really, but if I could I just might do so.

Trina Turks store is all style and substance, unlike the women who were working that day. I will not go into too much detail about the customer service, for there was none. Haha it was as if I needed a reservation or some special VIP pass to be inside, that's how haughty these sales women acted towards us.

When life gives you a fitting room, you try everything on, and that is what we did for about 45 mins or so. I tried on this here dress which was very nice but the colors were not my favorite combo. Brown and Yellow is a bit too soulfully rich for me. I prefer purple and greens.

My sister brought out her inner Bruno for all to see if they wanted to see it or not it was happening. She really liked this jumper, and it was actually pretty cute on her. Maybe she can find herself a girlfriend out here to be her sugar Mama.
This is the risque fitting room that has a crack for those who want to take a peep show.
Once again Sugar mama would come in handy for this bathing suit.

When it comes to my sister expect the unexpected...

This is a style I love wearing even though it makes me look way bigger than Iam.

I saw this book in the Trina Turk home store, but my mom bought it online. Cant wait to see it, I most Cuban things. I did have a Cuban birthday party ya know.
